Language-learning app Drops is the best Android app of 2018, according to Google.

On Monday, the Web giant released its annual lists of the best Android apps, games, and other content to grace the Play Store this year, and Drops—an app that uses illustrations and games to teach 31 languages—came out on top.

Online multiplayer battle royale sensation PUBG Mobile took home three awards: the best game of 2018, most competitive title, and fan favorite game.

This was the first year Google gave users the chance to vote for their favorite game, app, and movie of the year. Besides PUBG Mobile, users selected YouTube TV as their top app of the year and Avengers: Infinity War as the top movie.

Here’s some other winners for 2018:

  • Most Entertaining: “cinemagraph creating app” Vimage, color-by-number app No.Draw, human-curated video app Neverthink, lip-sync hit TikTok (formerly, and podcast app Scout FM.
  • Best Hidden Gems: pen pal app Slowly; Unfold, an app that offers templates for Instagram Stories; augmented reality drawing app Just a Line; dream guide and recorder Luci; and musical language-learning app Learn Spanish with Lirica.
  • Best Self Improvement: Mimo: Learn to Code; Drops; meditation app 10% Happier; fitness app Keep Trainer; and MasterClass, an app that offers downloadable video courses on cooking, singing, acting, and more.
  • Best Daily Helpers: BuzzFeed’s popular recipe app Tasty; Sift, an app that helps you take advantage of credit card benefits; graphic design app Canva; and note-taking app Notion.
